Parent & Me: 13–20 Months

Toddlers between 13 and 20 months are eager to explore, experiment, and discover the world around them. Cassidy Preschool’s 13–20 Month Parent & Me Class is thoughtfully designed to channel that natural curiosity into meaningful learning experiences while helping caregivers confidently support this exciting stage of development.

Each weekly class offers a balance of structured activities and open-ended exploration that encourages toddlers to move, communicate, create, and interact with others. Through music, movement, sensory experiences, stories, art exploration, and outdoor play, children develop important cognitive, physical, language, and social-emotional skills while learning in an environment that feels safe, engaging, and fun.

Caregivers remain active participants throughout every session, making each class a shared learning experience. As toddlers begin expressing preferences, testing independence, and developing stronger communication skills, parents gain practical tools for encouraging healthy development while strengthening the bond they share with their child.

Classes are led by Heather Ward, M.A., LMFT, whose experience in early childhood and family development provides valuable guidance for navigating the toddler years. Weekly parenting discussions address common topics such as encouraging language development, managing big emotions, establishing routines, positive discipline, supporting independence, and responding to everyday parenting challenges with confidence.

Just as important as the curriculum is the community families build together. Children enjoy opportunities to interact with peers in a supportive setting, while caregivers connect with other parents experiencing many of the same milestones. These relationships often become an invaluable source of encouragement and lasting friendship.

Located in Santa Monica, Cassidy Preschool proudly welcomes families from Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Venice, Marina del Rey, Culver City, Beverly Hills, and neighboring West Los Angeles communities who are searching for high-quality Parent & Me classes that combine child development with meaningful family support.
