Parent & Me: 13–20 Months
Your toddler is becoming more adventurous every day, eager to climb, explore, communicate, and interact with the world around them. Cassidy Preschool’s 13–20 Month Parent & Me Class provides a joyful Saturday morning experience where children and caregivers can discover, play, and learn together in a supportive environment designed specifically for this exciting stage of development.
This engaging weekend class offers families a wonderful opportunity to slow down and enjoy uninterrupted time together while supporting important developmental milestones. Through music, movement, sensory exploration, creative play, stories, and outdoor experiences, toddlers build confidence as they strengthen language, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional skills in a safe and nurturing setting.
One of the unique features of our Saturday class is that both parents are welcome to attend. Whether your family shares caregiving responsibilities, works during the week, or simply wants to experience these special moments together, this class creates meaningful opportunities for everyone to participate in your child’s earliest learning experiences. Grandparents or other primary caregivers may also appreciate the weekend schedule, making it easier for families to stay involved.
Parents and caregivers actively participate alongside their toddlers throughout every session, learning practical ways to encourage independence while maintaining the strong emotional connection children need to thrive. As toddlers begin communicating more clearly, testing limits, and developing their own unique personalities, families receive valuable insight into supporting these exciting changes with confidence and consistency.
Classes are led by Lolis Marquez, Associate LMFT, who facilitates engaging parenting discussions that complement each week’s activities. Conversations focus on topics including communication, emotional development, positive routines, navigating toddler behavior, encouraging independence, setting healthy boundaries, and building secure family relationships. Caregivers are encouraged to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
Beyond child development, the Parent & Me program helps families build lasting connections with others in the community. Children begin practicing important social skills through early peer interactions, while caregivers develop friendships with local families who are experiencing many of the same milestones. These relationships often become one of the most rewarding aspects of the program.
